: CAI question....

OK, I am not a "truck guy" but I love my Tundra just the same. I would like it to sound a little more meaty, not necessarily loud, juust a littl more rumble...does that make sense? So, after reading many of the threads on this board, I have some questions.

It seems like there are several options for CAI for the Tundra. What are the differences?? Is one better than the other??

If I were going to pair it with a good exhaust sytem to give it more rumble (and a little mor power never hurts), what combo would you guys reccomend?

Again, I am NOT looking for a whole lot more volume, just a little better sound.

It seems like it would be easiest to go straight TRD...but is that the smartest choice considering what I am looking to accomplish??

I installed the TRD CAI and dual exhaust. It sounds just right without being over beaing. The TRD route will cost you substantially more that other after market systems. The TRD CAI is produced by AFE and the TRD exhaust is made by Borla. For the minimal gains in performance, I would leave it stock unless you also add a set of DT headers.

If you decide to go the TRD route, check with Sparks Toyota. They have the best prices on parts and shipping and their service is top notch.

Good luck...

Thanks...I agree on Sparks.,...EXCEPT I live in SC, so they kill me on tax (not their fault...dang laws). I have a bought a few things from them, but I wouldn't want to get taxed on $1200-1500, ya know?

I guess I could buy the parts on Ebay....

Here's my truck...If you like how it sounds go with the KN 77 Series cold air intake and a custom Magnaflow exhaust setup. 14" dual in/dual out with Magnaflow 4" tips straight out the back.:devil:
