07 corolla vs 09 yaris ,I can see the difference on the stickers for fuel mileage. But I was wondering what the real numbers are. Seems to me a couple of years ago both of them were rated 10 mpg higher.
Thanks:dry:

Both great cars, but i give the nod on the corolla myself. You get more power, and slightly more interior space. Plus the mpg's are very close.
The MPG listings on the 08 & newer vehicles are suppose to be ACTUAL, now after the government mandate.
It's usually about 2 mpg difference is all. The corolla is rated for 28/37 with the 5 speed, and 26/35 auto.
Just for your information, we took a long trip in our corolla, and got 40 mpg at 75 mph. Ours is the 5 speed. We usually see 30mpg mostly city driving.

Also check out the yaris thread here on TS. Seems like i remember seeing a mpg thread on there.
