I want to take off the TRD stickers on the bed and have the area buffed out so as not to see any outline, my question is if these are on top of the clear coat or underneath. I took off a small corner of one to see what it looked like, I only used a glass cleaner to remove the glue and it didn't look to bad, but would need buffing. Also how are the badges held on, if I take them off will there be holes?
Thanks.

most badges are held on by 3m double sided tape.
and most likely no matter what you will need to have it painted. the mark of the emblem and vinyl graphic will always be there.
if you buff it out, it might cut so much of the clear coat, you will have a dull spot.
ever consider a mural in place of the trd graphic and badges.
there are guy's/girls who paint painting murals on clear vinyl.
i have had several make already , just waiting till i tired of my truck to make it look a little different again.
grim reaper, skull's, 3rd horseman, etc.
PM me, there is a guy, who makes them on ebay member venomair from canada.
also go to mostly any vinyl graphic shop or body shop, or custom motorcycle shop, or any place that does wrap's for truck's.
you can design your own.
if you had a brand new truck than all graphics badges/emblems would comeoff leaving no mark.
but if it has been on for a long time,
most likely it will leave a perminant mark.

Thanks gorilla, I pretty much thought that was gonna be the case, I think I'll leave everything on for now, I tend to four wheel pretty rough and let trees and brush scrape the sides all up so it will get somewhat banged up. To me that adds "charecter":D
Thanks also for the graphics suggestion.

The only color i have seen that doesnt show age is the expected Toyota 201 black. I have a 97 4runner that i put the sprt hood on and even after 205k and over 10 years the toyota dealer didnt even need to tint it at all. Same with my tundra when i replaced a fender.

It really depends on how long you've had your truck for. Mine is a 2000, but I got it in '05 with only 40k on it. I just debadged mine about a week ago. Most of the marks came off with some Goo Gone and a hefty load of elbow grease (about 4 hours total work for all badges off). The TRD Off-Road decal came off very easily, and it was a breeze to remove the adhesive. The trouble starts with the actual removal of dirt and adhesive from under the plastic badges. Check out the Debadging - General Information thread for info on how to do it (link (http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forums/interior-and-exterior/1289-debadging-general-information/)) As per the badges having holes, the only thing that will leave holes will be the molding (that plastic stuff running down the side of the truck). The holes are there to line them up if you ever replace them, but the small section on the bed does not have any holes on it and can be removed, which is what I did. I personally LOVE the debadged look and did everything except the SR5 badges. It's very sleek, in my opinion.
Hope I've been helpful,

If you take the stickers off and regret it, just go to Streetgraphics.net. They have some custom TRD Offroad stickers for a different look. First time I went to the dealer with them on my truck the service writer asked about them. He wasn't absolutely sure they didn't stock, they look that authentic. Even though they're a non-standard color scheme.

Hey thanks for all the great info and helpful hints. I just bought the truck a little over a month ago so I haven't had it long. It is grey(what color is this called?) so I think I might have a bit of a problem de-badging it as far as outlines go. But I will try the TRD stickers and If I like the results I might go with the rest of the badges, and just leave the "Limited" one on.
Thanks again.
