: Question My 2000 Tundra works great in the morning but wont start in the afternoon or evening barkerg 07-20-2008, 10:12 PM I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what the crap is going on with my truck. My 2 local dealers dont have a clue.
I have recently removed the rs3200 alarm system and it kind of seems like the problems have all started after that was removed.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Garrett 2000TundraSR5 07-20-2008, 10:16 PM maybe u need to reset your computer...you can do this by disconnecting the ground and leave it off for about a half hour and then reconnect. you will lose all your settings off ur radio and stuff....later! barkerg 07-20-2008, 11:11 PM that made it so that it starts and then immediately shuts off. the reason i pulled out the alarm was because it was malfunctioning and would always imobalize the truck. so is it possible that it sent the immobilizer code to the epu and now it wont let me start the truck? JRE56 07-21-2008, 04:13 AM If you think it is alarm related why don't you go to an alarm specialist, tell them your problem and see if someone can come over after work and look at your truck.Tell them you're pay,it'll be worth it. DevinSixtySeven 07-21-2008, 09:57 AM So it does start, but only in the morning?
Is it really hot outside (air temp, not engine temp) when you come out later to start it? HOGWILD 07-21-2008, 04:42 PM sell it tomorrow morning!:p that has to be the strangest thing i have heard, but some Techs here that can probably help just give them time! barkerg 07-21-2008, 05:33 PM So it does start, but only in the morning?

that is correct. in the moning it is cool and in the evening the air, not engine is hot and it wont start. barkerg 07-21-2008, 05:56 PM so my truck sat over night after i "reset" the computer and it is now 97 degrees outside and the truck is starting everytime without any problems. i wonder if my problems are over or if the truck is just messing with me. after i took off the alarm there was a two pin harness that went up into the dash. i disconnected it but the only way the truck would start was with the two wires coming out of the harness were together. after i reset the computer i unplugged that cable. do you think that was the issue, computer reset and removal of the 2pin harness?
thanks again.
maybe i will sell it in the morning :) jk i love my truck! barkerg 07-22-2008, 07:47 PM back to the same issue. i am very confused, it started just fine sometimes and then other times it doesnt start. the only time it wont start is in the mornings. in the afternoons it has the problems. any ideas? scaryperson27 07-22-2008, 07:54 PM Will it turn over when it does not start? barkerg 07-22-2008, 10:05 PM it acts like it is going to start, im not sure how to put it, but it goes ru ru ru ru or whatever, but never fires up. i took a few of the plugs out and i could see the spark, so i know its getting spark, i think it is somthing with the fuel. also, i baught a new battery to check and see if that was it, but still the same problem. i replaced the fuel filter and checked all fuel related connections and everything appears to be fine. but im not sure. BamZipPow 07-24-2008, 01:55 AM Did the alarm have a fuel cut? See if you can trace the wiring fer the fuel system that the alarm was hooked up to. If it was a wire tap, it may have trimmed the line enough when the wire gits warm and pliable it breaks the contact fer that wire. ;)
Heck...you might even think about jumping the wire straight from one connector to the other connector to make sure... ;) barkerg 07-24-2008, 05:50 AM does the rs3200 have that type of a feature? does the alarm have to be turned off in the epu some how?
thanks,
