: hard covers vs bedliner issues?

I just received today my PE full metal Jack Rabbit (thanks Josh from RealTruck.com).

I haven't opened it yet but I was wondering if anyone has this or any other retractable covers together with Toyota (http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forums/truck-bed-tonneau-covers/143139-retractable-covers-i-e-fmjr-bedliner/#) factory (drop in) bedliner.

If you do, please let me know if you have/had any issues. I was thinking about getting the drop in liner but I don't know if there would be any issues (like leaking). the cover is heavy enough so I just want to do the install once

thanks for comments

My friends have told me more than once to throw away all drop in liners and of the horrer storeis about removing them and seeing the bed rusted though.

I know I know. I didn't mean to start "what is the best liner" thread, although I appreciate the advice.

the drop in liner is quite sufficient for my needs and as an added bonus it has deep grooves at the bottom that would keep any water that would pass through the cover away from my tool in the bed.

I'd like to know if having the drop in liner could cause any issues with the covers, especially at the front of the bed where the canister meets the edge (covered with the drop in liner that goes over the edge)

I've got the PE FMJR on my '08DC and a drop in liner (came with the truck, but I don't remember the brand). I had to cut a section out of the front of the bed liner so that the FMJR canister would fit against the front of the bed.

If your bed liner is tight against the front of the bed, you may not have a problem. Mine had a space that was up to an inch or so from the front of the bed- just enough to cause the FMJR rails to be about 1/2" too long- keeping the tailgate from closing.
