: RamAir Hood Marky_Mark 01-12-2009, 06:15 PM Okay guys..Myself and Brian Eden the Director Of Marketing w/ RamAir Hood aka RAH struck a deal for a sponsorhip of my Tundra. My hood should arrive within 3 weeks..They are pre-painting it and all. Having it shipped directly to my body shop for the install. Stay tuned for pics and a review.
They are already a supporting vendor on here.
**EDIT** For pic of hood installed. I have one shot, as I did not take the pics. More to follow this weekend. Fitment looks awesome. I don't have the truck in my possession as I speak, since my buddy did this install on his day off at his shop. Will get underhood pics too. I am not going back with the factory squirters..Will relocate them to on the wipers themselves to keep underhood clean from all wiring and such...I do plan on installing an underhood light, since I still have the one off my Magnum. FYI..Had to cut about an inch off the K&N box surroud for the filter, and then put the rubber piece back on. Looks a hell of a lot better shorter from what he said.

That is one sick magnum Marky_Mark 01-16-2009, 02:46 PM ^^Thanks so much! My goal is to make the Tundra follow in the Magnum's footsteps! :) Marky_Mark 01-26-2009, 05:02 PM To my surprise got a call from my body shop first thing this morning..RamAir Hood has arrived already! Install will not take place until next Monday due to their work load. Guess I will have to be patient! ThirdHorseman 01-26-2009, 05:05 PM Well, it is...different... Marky_Mark 01-30-2009, 02:50 PM Hood Installed!!! I have one shot, as I did not take the pics. More to follow this weekend. Fitment looks awesome. http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m109/lowriderman3/RamAirHoodResized.jpg Marky_Mark 01-31-2009, 04:29 PM Went to a car/truck show today...And let me say this on the hood..I attracted more Kitties with that hood than a bowl of milk. LOL No seriously though, people were flipping out over the looks of the hood. And gawd who would have known how many women just love the freakin' Tundra! I am serious, as my Magnum which was fully tricked, did not garner this much attention! ThirdHorseman 01-31-2009, 06:54 PM Déjà vu...did you post the same colloquial quip twice, or I am going crazy?
The overall lines are great, I would like the same hood with just ONE scoop. Then it actually matches the center, single channel dip. :tu: Marky_Mark 01-31-2009, 07:04 PM Déjà vu...did you post the same colloquial quip twice, or I am going crazy?

^Yes but in a different thread. LOL..And as I mentioned, with the hood being short and stubby, you cannot do a single scoop and make it look right. It will look handicapped IMO. ThirdHorseman 01-31-2009, 07:06 PM Oh I dunno...I'm envisioning the Magnum scoop on the Tundra, and it looks pretty B-A in my head. We'll see if they ever make one! Marky_Mark 01-31-2009, 07:08 PM And technically this is just ONE scoop..Only the very front part has a fin on it..The top part is just one scoop..It does have the two openings, but looking at the top of the hood it is one big piece. Now the ones below is two seperate scoops with a dip in the middle, and I do not think that looks good to being with on any hood.

https://www.ramairhood.com/store/ProdImages/silverado.jpg Marky_Mark 01-31-2009, 07:11 PM Oh yeah. I dont have any underside shots yet, but here is the shot from their website. No more fugly underside stock hood look. Why Toyota did not at least but a piece on the underside of the hood is beyond me..At least the fire retardant piece a lot of cars come with would have looked much better.

If we have any photoshop gurus on here, maybe they could do a chop of one to get an idea. Marky_Mark 02-02-2009, 05:58 PM http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m109/lowriderman3/RamAirHoodResized2.jpg Austin Aggie 02-10-2009, 06:45 PM I'm with TH.
I think it would look better without the middle vane. I doctored up your picture a bit (hack job) to illustrate.http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forums/members/austin+aggie/albums/ideas++other+ts+members-62/ramairhoodmyway-10187.jpg Marky_Mark 02-10-2009, 07:12 PM ^^I have to say that looks pretty sweet! Now you have me to wondering if this is doable without jeopardizing the structure of the overall scoop. Since it is fiberglass, would be a breeze for my body shop to make it happen. Austin Aggie 02-10-2009, 07:48 PM Marky_Mark, here's the double-dog dare ya throw down: You don't have a hair on your sack if you don't make it happen! :D
Just kidding, of course. Marky_Mark 02-10-2009, 07:57 PM Marky_Mark, here's the double-dog dare ya throw down: You don't have a hair on your sack if you don't make it happen! :D

Well I have to look at it to really see if its doable..Since this is a true RamAir and has a water catch area behind the screens on the hood, I have to see if that will affect it. You figure you have to take the fin back far enough under the scoop to make the effect achieve the look some are after. skidoo 07-01-2009, 02:37 PM does anyone no what kinds of angel eye headlights those are.
btw sick truck :D Sparks Toyota-TRD 07-01-2009, 02:45 PM Your hood looks awesome!! I really like the way your build is turning out! Marky_Mark 07-01-2009, 04:11 PM does anyone no what kinds of angel eye headlights those are.

thanks for the reply, just wondering are the angel eye's brighter than the stock lights cause the stock lights are pretty bright to begin with.don't want to sacrifice the brightness for looks. The angels are freakin' bright as heck, and you can see the rings somewhat when I have my HID's on even. But I do not run them with the headlights on. The effect is to run them at dusk or when hanging out. I have mine on a seperate switch for this reason. You do not replace your headlights with these. They are for looks only. |
