Howdy Ya'll,

I'm wondering it Tundra owners in this higher altitude region are able to burn rubber? :D (I'm at ~5200' above sea level.)

I've added a number of performance mod's (see sig below) and can't get the tires to spin unless I gather some momentum in a right hand turn.

I know of other 1/4 mile Tundra racers (V8Toilet, mjjoff, Hodgeee etc.) have problems with traction during their launch. Not me. I can nail from a stand still and I get no slippage at all. I love the acceralation (above 2500 RPM), but sometimes I just want to hear those tires break loose! (JBA headers and an under drive pulley are next, so we'll see...)

Do you guys have the same experience??? I've often wondered how much better my truck would perform at sea level...

Thanks!

Jim.

Last summer I lived in Albuquerque and I had just purchased my truck in Dallas. In Dallas it was easy to break the tires loose. When I got back to ABQ (5800ft where I lived) it was a bit harder though possible. I did it from time to time and sometimes not on purpose. In Tucson I do it alot not on purpose, I guess I have a heavy foot. I have the LSD in my truck but I was still able to break the tires loose.

Shortly after getting my truck I added an ARE MX shell and Line-Xed the bed. Along with the other "stuff" I keep in my bed, I must have well over 300 pounds of extra weight on the back end. I haven't been able to break the tires loose since.

Oh well. . . I guess it does save on tire wear.
