Ok so I'm new here, and I have a somewhat complicated problem. I just installed a viper 5902 alarm on my truck, previously it had a python 650 esp (I didn't install it) when I got the truck it had no remotes for it, and I never used it, it never did anything. So I was looking over the wires I was going to need to tap into to wire my new alarm system. I noticed that the python had several similar wires already in place, so I just used what I could of those. It also had a starter kill connected. I went to best buy, and I was able to get a consultation with one of the installers, who said not to use the starter kill. So when I wired everything up and reconnected the battery, it would not start (crank). I then disconnected everything, and wired it how it was originally wired. It still does not start everything works, except it will not crank. Can anyone help me?

Welcome to the site!!!! Sorry man, but I have no clue...Sounds like the alarm is keeping the engine from starting though....????

Yep, your alarm is causing the starter kill switch to work. Best buy, I wouldnt trust any advice from any of them that work their, seen my fair share of crap from what they install.
Here is what I would do, locate the back up switch for the alarm and see if you can deactivate the alarm that way and see if it starts. Usually you put the key in the on or acc position and push the button or flip the switch or use a combination of flips or pushes (refer to alarm manual). If that doesnt work try to disconnect the alarms power first and see if that works, or redo the wiring and remove the old alarm. Could also try disconnecting the battery to reset the alarm too, sometimes this works.
I highly dislike viper alarms, they are very poor quality imho. The best alarms are made by black widow, have had several myself and loved them-can even make them just do keyless entry.

Well I totally disconnected all the old security system's wiring and just took the starter wire (green/black) which was divided by the starter kill and reconnected it back together, but it still doesn't crank when I turn the key

Damn, that's a tough one. I had a similar problem on my 96 Acura and the brake switch had gone bad. I suppose the Tundra may have a similar brake pedal actuated switch to lock out the ignition when the brake isn't on? What I mean is maybe the truck thinks you don't have the brake on? Probably another wild goose chase?

You might have fired a fuse or something????? Check the fuse box under the dash and in the engine compartment... :)

I checked the fuses they all look ok, I was thinkin maybe I somehow damaged the starter relay(the one in the fuse box) but I don't know how to tell if it's functional or not, not sure what you meant about the brake being on, the brake only needs to be depressed to shift it is an automatic transmission, I am just hoping I didn't damaged my pcm or ecu

Glad you got it started. I just remembered that my Acura would start, but wouldn't shift when the brake switch went bad.

A little off topic, but just curious if you are on Acurazine? Reason I asked is because of your 1st gen TL.
