i saw that OBX makes headers for 05-06 4.7 tundras, does anybody have these? the price seems pretty reasonable and from the pics i saw on ebay it looks pretty good. wanted to know if they were worth the price. any reviews would be greatly appriciated:)

well i dont know if it helps you, but i put OBX headers on my old tacoma and loved them. i originally pacesetter headers for it, but they leaked right from the beginning, so i returned those and ordered the OBX ones from ebay and they were way better. the flanges were literally twice as thick as the pacesetters and were just an overall better quality fabrication. i would definitely purchase them again.

It's hit and miss, if you ask me. Check out this older thread...

i know JBA or Doug Thorleys are what most of the guys have here, but the OBX looks like good quality and almost half the price. as far as the overall performance that is where the reviews would help...;)

i know that OBX makes a lot of products and i have seen most of them for cars(scions, hondas, etc) but haven't seen any for trucks. was just curious on their quality.

Hey to all, the difference in the OBX vs JBA's for an example...is the JBA's "firecone" an added piece that fools the header into acting likes it's longer (think long tube). The OBX is a shorter "open" header, yep it will help your truck breath but because of the open design the power will be seen more on the higher end of the rpm range where it really isn't needed in this application. This is why I wish Doug Thorley, Hedman, pick one would make long tube small diameter (1 1/2") headers.....now that would be great.

Anyway, OBX....cheaper maybe not better...good luck, CSM-H

h7009, thanks for the input. yeah i realized that the jba "firecone" and doug thorley "long" type tubes would make the difference as far as performance.

What happened to dt's long tube headers for our trucks? All I see now are shorties just like everybody else has.

X2 - I cannot find a quality set of long tube headers anywhere. I did see a set of S&S with replacement cats but it was way expensive. I am a little leery about buying a product from a company that is out of business now. Such a shame.

I think I've seen flowtech and pacesetter with long tubes but I'm leary of them. I've seen them labeled as off road only. I emailed pacesetter about them this week and have not received a responce yet.

I was curious about the Flowtech as well...I believe they are a brand from Holley, so they might be made well. Anyone running them?

I almost forgot about stans headers and yes they still manufacture a long tube for our trucks. http://www.stans-headers.com/Photos/447Y-2%20001.jpg

S&S is not the same manufacturer as SS Autochrome.
