I recently did a tune up on my 03 Highlander. I replaced the belts, timing belt, water pump, hoses, antifreeze, t-stat, radiator cap, valve cover gaskets, and spark plugs. but now I get a squealing noise for a few seconds at startup if the car has been sitting overnight. My thoughts are either the acc belts are too tight or loose or I need to replace the power steering pump or idler pulley or is it a belt tensioner. Does anyone have any ideas on this?
Thanks,

The most likely source of the noise is the accessory belt itself. There are several possible causes: belt is of poor design, tensioner is not getting enough tension on the belt, coolant was spilled on the belt/pulley, or the belt is mis-aligned.
When cold, the belt is a bit less pliable and "sticky". As it warms up, it will have more "traction" on the pulleys. The squeal is the belt slipping. The squeal may go away on it's own. If it's only been together a day or two, I might wait and see what happens.

Its been about a month now and still squealing at start up. When I did the tune up I ordered all the parts from Toyota. Do you think I should replace the two accessory belts? I've been reading that a lot of people like the gator belts??? Btw I checked and the belts are aligned and clean... Thanks.

It may be the belts...I know the Gen-1 Tundras had a similar issue and the solution was to switch belt brands. If it bothers you that much and you don't mind spending the $40 or so, switching belts will probably solve the problem.

I'll have to try that then. Its the wifes car and she always thinks I pamper my cars more. So'd I'd get hell  if I just let it squeal...
