At one time the corolla was made in California on a General motors assembly plant. Does any one know if they are still being made there? If not where are they being made now? Thanks, Coal Miner

The Nummi plant in California has been closed. All Corollas now come from Cambridge, Ontario, Canada.

I didn't think that NUMMI closed until March 2010. They built the Pontiac Vibe and Cambridge builds the Matrix version. Did they shut down the Vibe right away or is that also still being built until March?

Thanks for the input. But who makes the Carolla now? GM or Toyota?

100% Toyota. Just confirmed today that they still make the Corolla at Nummi until march. After that the production will be split between Canada and Japan. Long term Corolla production (if sales really pick up like they were a year and a half ago) they will probably move Japanese made cars to Mississippi or to Canada.

No problem. If you want to know where any of your vehicles are made there is a black label usually located on the front side of the lower B pillar. Open your drivers door and you will see it. That will tell you what plant made it plus year and month of manfacture. I think your Solara was made in Kentucky (TMMK) and your Tundra Indiana (TMMI).
