I'm aware of the differences, but I wanted to know what the majority of people are using.
I have an '02 Sequoia.
Thanks.

I would tell you to use performance friction carbon metallic pads instead of the oem type. They offer greater resistance to fade and don't cost that much more.

I just ordered Hawk Performance Ceramic for my 06 Tundra w/50k. I just put on Akebono ProACTs on my 04 RAV4 w/60k. Both were previously using Toyota original pads.

Using Raybestos Ceramic pads on the RAV4. Using Toyota brand pads on the Tundra. The RAV4 rarely ever has brake dust, however it does have 4-wheel disc brakes and the TUndra does not.

i've put the akebono's on a civic and a subaru with really good results...no squeal, very low dust, great feel.... I haven't needed any for my tundra yet, but plan on those when the time comes.

+2 on the Akebono ProACT pads. The great thing with these pads is no shim kit(s) are required. Got mine at Parts Geek for less than Toyota parts desk pricing.

So far on the Akebono ProACTs I've got excellent stopping power. I do like the soft "shim" on the back of the pads. It's not mushy, but its not two hard pieces of metal either. You may have to peel and stick them yourself, but mine came affixed to the pads already.
