My 94 4x4 sr5 tacoma isnt turning over everytime. It's hit or miss but when its acting up i just get a CLICK as i turn the key, i'll do it a few times and it'll turn over acting like it's gonna bog out- gotta give it gas to keep it from dying . Then for a few days it wont act up at all? Real spontanious. is this mechanical or electrical, the starter or ignition? Some loose wire I cant see? any advice-feedback from experience would be greatly appreciated..

Could be a dying battery. Could be a faulty charging system. Could be a slipping starter, or a problem with the clutch safety switch. As far as having to give it more gas, that could be anything from clogged fuel lines to a dying fuel pump. AT this point, I'd recommend taking it to a specialist, at least for diagnosis, even if you do the work yourself.

Thanks much.. My check engine light came on for about fifteen minutes last week, will definitely be taking it for a diagnostic work up, get some codes , figure it out from there. - i am thinking there is a problem with the fuel line or pump now for sure, having an effect on sensors, making the light come on? thanks again for the help.

Hope all goes well, bro. Depending on what your engine's doing, that could be the cause of your Check Engine light too. Even more, I hope the fix is something simple (and cheap!).
