There wasnt anything in the package it came in , it looks like it just pops out, but im afraid . Is there a trick to getting the old light out?

This may apply to your situation and maybe not. I don't know what year Tundra you have.
I bought an LED 3rd brake light for my '03 Tundra AC. It wasn't apparent how it went at first. I tried taking out the old one but just wouldn't come.
I went on this website and read a description of someone else doing it. I stopped reading at " go inside at the back of cab and lower the headliner to
reach 2 bolts that hold the stock light in". When he said you have to reach up from underneath and don't drop the nuts or they will end up down in the bottom of cab I quit. Too much for me! I sent the LED light back for refund.
