On my 2003 you push in the Air Recirculation Button and it is on, but are the newer 2005 & 2006 do you have to HOLD that button for 5-10 seconds for it to light up & work?

Hmm, interesting. I've pushed that button many times and nothing has happened. I thought maybe it was broke.

Forget about any button on the dash. Just crack the window a little & you'll get plenty of re-circulation especially here in Florida where its been 30 degrees. Years ago most old convertables didn't have a rear window so there was no problem with air. None of this fancy stuff. Coal miner in Florida.

I figured it out. If you have the heat set to defrost, or floor/defrost you can't turn on the recirculate option. If you have it on floor, floor/panel vents, or just panel vents it will allow you to recirculate. That only took me a year to figure out. LOL.

OK, Now we are getting somewhere, How hard is it to push in, it is faily easy like the hazard switch, right?

Anyone ever turn it OFF??

yes, it's just as easy as your 4WD button or hazard light button. Mine is never on as I find this time of year it just fogs up the windows, plus I'm a smoker so the window is usually open a crack anyway.

I pretty much always have the recirculation switched on. I drive on two lane roads with logging trucks etc... if you have your window open or the recirculation off you might as well be sucking on the diesel exhaust pipe cause that stuff fills the truck up. Tough when the windows start to fog up...

When defrost is on... recirculation does not function.

Re-circ cools A/C down quicker in summer heat and warms heater faster in winter. As HL noted above, too much re-circ in winter can cause windows to fog. It's one of those valuable buttons we tend to overlook.
