Access® Limited Edition Tonneau Cover
Installation and review
There is one thing that I think everyone with a truck should have and that is a tonneau cover. A big deciding factor when purchasing a new cover would be “What you primarily use your truck for and how often you put items in the bed?” I use my truck for hauling motorcycles, so getting a hard cover was out of the question. I didn’t feel like taking it of and putting it on every time I was putting a bike in the back. The perfect choice for me was a roll-up soft cover.
I was a little hesitant at first as I really really like the look of the hard covers, however when I came across the Access site I was rather impressed. Their thin low profile design really cleans things up. So I settled for the Access Limited Edition Tonneau Cover.
The box came in the mail and I was like a 10 year old boy wanting to play the his new toy that he got for Christmas. Plus the fall was upon me and I didn’t want leaves and the ensuing winter show filling up the bed. I was really surprised at how easily the cover installed. The instructions were laid out rather well and helped to give you pointers when something just didn’t seem right. So lets see the installation shall we.
Open the box and make sure you have all the hardware you need. Nothing worse then starting a project with missing parts.
Take the left side rail and put it on the driver’s side of the bed. Make sure the Nylon Bump is to the rear of the truck. Do the same for the right side rail and put in on the passenger side of the bed.
Open the hardware bag and lay out 4 clamps for each of the side rails.

Align the right side rail on the driver’s side of the box. Slide the rail towards the front of the truck making sure that it’s still flush with the outside of the box. Use a spring clamp to temporarily hold the rail in position.

Take you first clamp and place it up and under the rail about 8 inches from the front of the box. Make sure the clamp it set so that the inside of the clamp is higher up. This will help in making sure the rail is flush and level and doesn’t sag. If the rail is tilted inward, loosen the clamp and move it up then tighten again.

Install another clamp a quarter of the way down. I suggest you tighten it higher just to make sure the rail is level.
With the tailgate up lift the back of the rail to ensure it aligns with the top of the tailgate. If your truck has a tailgate protector you will want to make sure the rail matches the height of the cover. Put a clamp there and tighten.
Install the 4th clamp about 10 inches in from the last clamp.

Repeat this sequence on the passenger side rail.
Move to the front of the box and use the alcohol pack supplied to clean the front sill of the bed. Make sure the sill is thoroughly dry before proceeding.
Peel off the backing paper from the rubber seal and align it against the rail. Go across the entire box and then cut to the correct length.

Take the cover out of the bag and rest on the the tail gate.
Install the tension adjusters. Start on the left side. Each adjuster is labeled with an “L” or and “R” be sure to choose the correct one. The dials have been set to match the spec on your truck. Attach the left side adjuster with the bolts provided. Repeat for the adjuster on the left side and leave the bolts a little loose for now.
Carry the rolled up cover to the front of the box and set it on the vertical legs behind the front of the cab.
On the drivers side slide the left tension adjuster against the left rail. Make sure it engages under the rail, align the holes and slide in the bolt.
Make sure the vinyl flap of the cover is tucked under and between the installed seal.
Do the same for the right side tension adjuster.
Use a measuring tape to make sure the cover is centered properly between the rails. If centered then tighten the 2 bolts that attach the cover to the tension adjusters.
Unroll the cover and till the end and it snaps into place.
You are now finished with the installation of your new AGRI-Cover.
