I am trying to buy a 2000 Toyota Tundra (V8 Limited) from a guy. He lost the keys so I had a guy come out and make one. The key seems to work fine except the car turns over but wont fire. The mechanic thought there was a problem with the fuel pump, but before he replaced it he did some research and says there is a immobilizer on the truck and its this that is making the truck not fire. It has to do with the security of the truck. Now the owner swears he had a key cut from a regular place (home depot-ish) and it worked. The owner is now telling me to use the FOB on it and it should work.
I have the FOB. I have to wait till Monday to try it.
Think it might work?
