Need to throw out a couple of Q's.

Does anyone know how long the engine lift hooks were installed on the engines
for First Gens? Years?

I do not think I have seen them on 2nd Gens, so, were they eliminated?

I have them on mine, and want to remove them. I am not home to check, so, how are they installed? Bolts to block?

Not exciting questions, but, trying to find out.

On my 2004 they are bolted to the intake side of the aluminum heads and look to be removable without any impact on anything else. I'd put the bolts back in place so that water can't freeze in the bolt hole openings though. They are very accessible and appear to be 14/15 MM wrench size.

Thanks Larry for the response. I am 3000 miles from home over the border, otherwise, I would have checked myself.

Anyone know if they still have them on 2nd Gen? Curious.

Gracias.

Gracias amigo. Exactly as I remember them. I was looking for our First Gens, and this has helped. It is a PITA trying to figure things out from here away from home sometimes.

I was only curious on 2nd Gens. Now I know, I can remove them for my engine detailing soon.
