I have an '08 Tundra CM and just installed an OEM mirror with the Homelink and compass. I tried programming the Homelink feature to open my garage door, but could not get it to work. I used the Toyota Operator's Manual and tried the default programming mode (with a new battery in the garage door opener) several times with no luck. I even tried the "rolling codes" mode and the "Canadian" mode, still no luck. My wife has essentially the same mirror in her '08 Acura and it works with our garage door opener fine.
Does anyone have any tips on what I may be doing wrong? Any help is GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks,
Ken

OK, got it figure out.
I checked out Homelink's web site and they had an additional step NOT included in the Toyota Operator's Manual. Apparently for first time programming, you need to clear the memory bu holding down the two Homelink buttons farthest apart untill you get a fast blinking light. After performing this procedure, I was able to program the homelink to work with my garage door opener fine.
I have copied and pasted the instructions from Homelink for my particular vehicle below.
Hope it helps somebody else.

Process: Program a garage door
Vehicle: 2008 Toyota Tundra
HomeLink® Location: Overhead
Door Opener: Liftmaster Please review all precautions listed at the end of this document.
Please note it is recommended to have new batteries in your handheld garage door transmitter prior to programming and pull your vehicle complete outside of the garage because the door will activate during programming
1.For first time training, press and hold the two outer HomeLink® buttons, releasing only when the HomeLink® indicator light begins to flash after 20 seconds. (Do not perform this step when training the additional HomeLink® buttons.)
2.Hold both the handheld transmitter button and the HomeLink® button you would like to program until the HomeLink® flashes slowly then rapidly (then release both buttons)
3.Press and hold the HomeLink® button you just programmed. If the garage door opens/closes then programming is complete. If it does not then proceed to step 4.
4.Get a ladder and press and release the “learn” button on the back of your garage door motor head
5.Within 30 seconds get back into your vehicle and press and release the HomeLink® button you just programmed up to 3 times or until your garage door activates. Programming is complete.
