Recently I got in my 07 Tacoma and when I attempted to turn on the A/C, it would not work unless I turned the fan all the way on High. I was wondering if anyone knew the cause of this and, if it is not an easy fix, if the extended Toyota warrenty would cover the repairs.

Welcome to TS from N. Calif! Sounds like the resistor problem... check this thread:

As Splicer said, it's the resistor. The resistor works the low and med fan speeds. The High fan speed bypasses the resistor. Here's a direct link (with pictures) to replace the resistor. It's a very inexpensive piece to replace:

I want to add my thanks also. My 06 Tacoma AC recently started working on high only. This resistor was the problem. I wish I could repair the old part to keep it as a spare. Toyota had the part in stock and they new exactly what I was talking about so it must be a common malfunction.
