Hello all,
I tried to search high and low for my problem and a solution, but no luck, so I'm posting here. Ever since I bought my '07 Tundra, I noticed the transmission is very laggy at certain times. When I'm cruising at relatively low speed at about say 35 MPH and let off, acceleration will let off as it should for a few seconds, but then all of a sudden my tach will fall about 1000 RPMs, then jump back up and "right itself". The speed of the truck acts accordingly w/this, so it's not some weird problem w/my tach, but obviously the transmission itself. It's very odd and very very annoying:mad:.
This isn't something that happens now and again, but the same way all the time. I'm pretty sure when I let off the gas, my truck should just coast stabily in whatever gear it's in. Instead it coasts, then slows down as if I'm lightly pressing the breaks as my tach fallls, then coasts again when it rights itself a second later. I took it to the dealer way back when and of course there's no problem, and the guy explained it as "hunting"...the truck is trying to figure out what gear to be in. I think this is BS cause there's no shifting at this time...just the transmission "falling" off for a second then back up.
Anyone have a clue what I'm talking about, experienced this or able to explain it? Thanks in advance!
