2008 - 5.7L - Crewmax - 57k miles

Last week my check engine light came on while driving from Pensacola to Tallahassee. I had no problems until I fueled up. I'd say it took 15 minutes to get it to crank immediately after I filled up the gas tank. As soon as I got it rolling it ran fine, but I decided to take it to the Toyota dealer in Tallahassee the next morning. Without going to deep into it, I had a bad experience and they quoted some $1200 to replace the charcoal canister on the evaporative system. Needless to say, with the truck seemingly running ok, I didn't replace the canister. I basically payed $90 just for them to tell me the codes, which they didn't volunteer (P0441 and P0455).

Since then I had no problems until I fueled up again. Same thing happened, turn-turn-turn-turn-pump accellerater-turn-turn-crank-let off accellerator-die. Took a few minutes and I got it rolling again and once again, no problems since then.

I have done some research and there are quite a few possibilities that I have read (Valves, gas cap, charcoal canister, seals, hoses). I am confident I am capable of dropping the tank and fixing/replacing whatever it is, but I am not good at diagnosing problems like this. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Update:
I fueled up two days ago and had no problems cranking and last night the CEL went away. Only variable I can think of is the cold front this week has temps down in the 60s-70s vs. 80's-90's.

These are generic codes, see this thread for suggested solutions: http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forums/4runner/76603-p0441-p0446-and-p0455/.
Or run this through Google search "site:tundrasolutions.com toyota p0455"

Also, if the problem is a bad O2 sensor, the repair should be covered under your major emissions warranty good up to 8yrs. I recently had the bad O2 sensors on my 2004 RAV4 replaced free under warranty at the Toyota dealer.

Did you fuel up with Citgo gas on the toll road? I had problems after running a tank of that stuff. Went away after getting some quality fuel.

I don't remember the brand of gas, but I will look into it. I haven't had the code or any other problem since my last post (over a month ago). I am glad I didn't spend the $1200 at Toyota. Speaking of Toyota, I need to find a good quality local shop so I can avoid this in the future. Anyone know a shop around Pensacola area?

My CEL came on again this weekend and I had to same problems getting my truck to start after fueling up. WTF? It was fine for like a month and now it starts again?

I've got the same problem as you've described with my 2008 5.7L Tundra w\67k. It just came up on a road trip and set code p0441 & p0455 the next morning after a fill up, twice now. I went to an O'Rileys auto parts and they read and cleared the codes the first time. I had the same hard start after the fill up. What was the solution to you problem?

Thanks
