I've seen this done on cars and decided to try it with the Tacoma. I'm happy with the results and thought I'd see what others thought. It kinda gives a sinister type look.:devil:

PS---I cut out the shape on paper, transfered the shape to black vinyl, cut it out with scissors and stuck 'em on. I got the idea from the "PUTCO" website, where they do this with chromed ABS plastic.

to each his own...perhaps if the grill wasn't chrome it would flow better but really looks strange on civics in the first place...much less a truck. PS i just had to come to this thread cause it said "cosmedic" hahaha

Wow, it's a good thing I posted here to get myself staightened out. Cosmetic,cosmetic, cosmetic. I got it. I'm glad I don't have a civic too. I did see this idea done on some big dollar cars, can't say I've seen it on a civic. To each his own.

It is popular mod on Tacomaworld. Some do it via paint other buy the eyelids.

It looks odd with the chrome grill. It might look kind of cool if the grill was painted to match.

Well, since I'm new to this board and new to the Tacoma, I'm not aware of many of the mods that are being used. After I did this I could see that it could be done with paint and could be color matched.

I've owned this Tacoma for about two months and every time I looked at the front of it I kept thinking it had a "bugeye" look to it because of the shape of the headlights. Since I'm on vacation this week (time to kill)I thought I'd try to change that look. I put one side on and compared the two sides. IMHO I thought it got rid of the "bugeye" look and thought it was an improvement. I couldn't agree more that it would look better if the grille was black, but it's chrome and it's going to stay that way, at least till it gets all beat up. Maybe paint it black then. I've already got several nicks in it from highway driving.

Well, anyway I think it's an improvement. For you, it probably should have read "comedic headlight mod".:D

i think u should do a black headlight mod on it and black out the grill. that would give it a sinister look IMO.
