I just got my 2000 Tundra (2WD), and wanted to put a suspension lift on it. I searched and read that SJ has a reputation for quality, so I am not concerned with the brand. Originally I was going to buy a Tuff Country 4.5in suspension lift w/shocks for about $1400, but then I saw this: Skyjacker 5 Inch Lift Kit with shocks-RH3 (http://www.performance4trucks.com/prodDetail.aspx?partno=SKY174EBK-H)

Considerably cheaper! I am now tempted to just buy this one instead, but could anyone tell me if that would be the wrong move? I'm not sure if there is anything significantly different.....i've also seen pics of the TC 4.5in lift on the Tundra, and was worried the SJ lift would make it look completely different. Any help would be great thanks!

How does that work without new UCA's?? I had a skyjacker lift on my jeep wrangler. It was pretty damn nice.

I'm pretty new to cars, I assumed that the lift kit came with everything I needed? I do not plan to install this myself, but do I need to buy additional parts to supplement the lift kit?

I don't see how it would work without new spindles or at least spindle spacers.

Someone is playing fast and loose with the numbers. That is not a 5" kit, unless you have maxed out the front suspension (4") and included the height gain from a set of 33" tires (1") and decided that meant a 5" lift.

Take a look through my signature line, and come back with questions...we'll help however we can.

I would not buy that SJ kit. Somebody is trying to screw with potential buyers, advertising that as a 5" kit.

If I'm not mistaken only 2 companys make lift kits over 3 inches for the 1st gen Tundras, Tuff Country (4.5 inches and 5 inches) and RCD (6inches). I seacrhed up and down to find more maybe for a cheaper price but I was unsuccessful. I went with the Tuff Country 5 inch kit which ran me about $1500. I love it. That SJ kit dosen't look legit, I'd let that one go.

I don't see where it says it's for a Tundra.

Before you look at the suspension kits, you fill out from a drop down menu your car, make, year, etc.

Hmmm...maybe that is why we're looking at a kit that appears to include nothing more than a pair of springs, pair of blocks, and 4 u-bolts. Got a link to the vehicle-specific kit?

Most TC kits I've seen on the interweb do not come with the longer rear shocks that are required. It's another expense that needs to be worked into your budget and are available for around 50 or 60 clams.
