So my 02 Tundra v6 was feeling sluggish and the check engine light came on. Took it to the zone and they came up with the throttle sensor code. Well after a day or two the light disappeared and the engine was acting normal. Approx. a month later passes and I'm driving down the road about to enter my neighborhood and then BAM..it seems like all power was lost and my truck could not properly accelerate and was sruggling to drive. I immediately take it to my neighborhood dealer and drop it off with my service writer. That afternoon he calls me and says the whole throttle body is shot and I am looking at about 1400. :td: Jaw drops, i pass out and wake up to a bucket of water being splashed on me. That didnt really happen but you could imagine.I give him the go ahead and then the next day I find out the part is not readily available and may have to be built for me. Now I am at two weeks without my truck with no ETA on a part or completion of repair. Any advice, comments? Is this possible for it not to be availabe? Did I wait to long and a simple cleaning probably wont fix the issue? Is it possible for the sensor to short causing total malfunction which would call for a full replacement. Will i even see a difference in performance with this new part?
