Hello all, I recently bought an '07 Camry LE I-4 with 58,000 miles on it. At about 60,000 miles it started to make a occasonal on and off squeak noise that I attributed to dust and now sometimes when Im driving it will make a constant squeaking noise that stops if I step on the brake pedal.
I looked at the brake pads the other day and they dont look to be all that thin, they definetly werent down to the backing and while the inner pads were the thinnest, Id say they had at least 3/16 of an inch of thickness.
So, am I looking at something simple like the brake pads simply needing to be replaced or what? It just seems weird that it will squeak when Im not using the brakes and only occasionally will it squeak when I do step on the brakes.
Thanks.

That is exactly it. You're down to your audible wear sensor on your pad. The reason why it stops squeaking when you break is because the pads against the rotor act like a cushion and basically "muffles" the sound.

If you need any pads, give us a call and we'll give you special TundraSolution pricing. :-D
