I'm to pickup my 08 Tundra this week. It is the 5 seater DC (buckets with center console). I've noticed after looking at literally hundreds of pictures over the last 4 months, that the cup holder just in front of the center box console often appears to have some sort of round black plastic cap over it. What is it? Was it on the truck when you bought it (used or new)?

I've noticed the one on my soon to be Tundra is missing and I'm susceptible to having this drive me quite mad. I not sure I can sign the finance papers without its presence. I inspected the truck in the dark for the most part and didn't look into the center console, where it could very well be hiding, but I doubt it. Things like this are usually missing for a reason! (as in stupid, or totally useless or bothersome, etc.)

Please help me before I do something I might regret!!!!!

sounds like either the ashtray (which has a lid) or do you mean the long slender piece between the cupholders and the shifter?

It is an ash tray with a flip up lid that is missing. I use mine as a change holder. It probably would't cost very much to replace if can find where to buy it. I would think less than $20.

Definitely an ash tray you are asking about. And I threw mine away the day I bought the truck. Wouldn't get worked up about it at all, unless you smoke 5 packs a day and live in your truck, then I can understand.:D

I have a similar question - just where to find these plastic pieces online - or even what they are called. I just bought a 2007 Tundra Texas edition and there is a small plastic piece to the left of the gear shifter missing as well as the lid to the map storage to the right of the gear shifter between the cup holder. Not sure online (here's one..see item #22 (http://www.trademotion.com/parts/2007/TOYOTA/TUNDRA/SR5/?siteid=214631&vehicleid=1438248&section=BODY%20HARDWARE&group=CONSOLE&subgroup=CONSOLE&component=Storage%20compart%20cover)) about the pieces but with regard to the map pocket cover, did you check the bottom side of the console lid to see it it's there?
On mine (2011)that is where it's stored when not in the position pictured. It snaps in nice and neat and blends in!
