Just got a used new to me ATV and it is in really good shape and being as OCD as I am about cleaning and maintaining things I was wondering if any of you guys had any tricks and tips.
Thanks!

Been trying to figure this one out for years. Not really much you can do as far as I can tell. I have tried wesanding down with 1500-2000, then buffing, but it just does not work.

They sell a product called ATV Renew that sands the plastic, then puts on sort of a clearcoat that fills in the scratches, but it wont look factory.

Personally, I just throw whatever heavy tire shine I have on the plastic and call it a day. It hides the scratches, and beads/protects. Throw it on, let it sit, then lightly buff. I use Megs Tire Foam.

Brandon,
Thanks for the info! I'll give it a shot.

I've recently completed a ground up restoration on a really old Honda scooter and the only flaw in the bike is the front plastic fender that has a few light scratches. After many polishes and time, I couldnt find anything to fix the scratches so I just coat it with a layer of Klasse AIO and Zaino Z-2 and call it a day. The deep shine takes your eyes off the slight defects in the plastic.

If it bothers you that much you can always look into replacing the bad pieces. Might be pricey though.

Jumbo-
Thanks for the info, Iused shine on it and it did just fine. Believe me the unit is 10 years old and only has 100 hours on it. If I can borrow Brandon's slogan/name, I just want to bring it back to "Showroom Shine".
I'll snap a couple of pics over the weekend while I'm in the shop assembling a dollhouse!

Good thread & been trying to find a solution to this. I just tried my pc on it & it made it a little worse. However, I used the pc on my front (black aftermarket) A-arms & it brought a really nice shine to those. Since I have the AIO that jumbo suggested, I will try it where I used the pc with swirl remover & get back to you.
In the past, I've just used pledge (I think was it) & tried to wipe off the greasy look.

Klasse AIO by itself didn't do anything to mine. i don't understand this because it works good on my black Tundra mirrors.
