I just got my truck and it has about 53k and I think the shocks are getting a little worn (100% rough city streets). Since I am debating on upgrading the suspension I am trying to figure out what would be best. I am thinking about going with the Blistien 5100 just to level it out a bit. It is a 4x2 and the back height is fine for me. Do I just need front shocks or front and rear? Basically what do you think would be the best way to smooth out these city streets and level up the front?.....

Oh and by the way the tires only have about 6months left on them to. What size/type should I replace with? I like a tire to fill up the fender well and have a semi aggresive look but honestly my driving will be 100% on road driving so I need a tire with good life and road manners (I have always ran BFG AT K/Os in the past which I have been happy with)

Thanks in advance

bilstein 5100's all around and some michelin cross terrains. DONE. have the fronts set at the 2.5" setting. What size wheel you running?

What he said.

Look for something in a 285/75/16 (or equivalent, if you have a different wheel diameter)...assuming your wheels are 8" wide or you will need an adapter. If you don't want to worry about buying new wheels, anything 255/85/16 will work as well.

i ran 265/65R17's (stock wheels) until i did my 285/75R16's on 9" wheels and 1" spacer. Looks cool, rubs WITH pinch weld mod and hits fender at bump. I have fiberglass fenders sitting in my garage but its kind of lame to run them without long travel. They dont call it a "project" for nothing! Be careful what you get yourself into. I vote bilsteins and if you change ANYTHING over stock, go from a 265/65 to a 265/70 OR if youre on 265/70's then goto a 265/75

IMHO...do not just change out 2 shocks, replace them all at one time and with Bilstein shocks. You will be glad you did.

Another vote for the 5100s all around. I recommend the Nitto Terra Grapplers in LT265/75R16 119Q.

guys I currently am running a factory 20in rim and don't plan to change that. The truck is a 4x2 and will never be off the payment most likely. I currently have a 275/60/20 now. What do you guys think about 5100 on the front (set to their mid 1.5-2 in setting) and on of their rear shocks that give zero lift for the back?

try to find some 275/65's then. That 5100 setup would work fine. 2" up front would be pretty sweet. :afro: just do it already!!!!!! I vote michelins!!!!
