I have decided to freshen up the 01 ac since I am getting tired of it and with a payment on my wifes prius a new tundra is not an option. Since the truck is lifted on 33s my only major complaint is the need for lower gearing and the huge rpm gaps in gear changes. I'll get some 4.10 or 4.30 gears that's no problem but what I also have planned is upgrading to the 05-06 5 speed tranny. Is it as simple as swapping parts and plugging in the appropriate tcu or is there more to it. I've found that some years have different tail shafts and I'm not sure if that will come into play. I'm not looking to fabricate but I don't mind taking some time finding the parts. Any help or advice would be appreciated

there are a few people on this forum who have done it. use the search and you should be able to find them. i believe it was a direct swap but not 100% sure.
