So I just got a 97 Tacoma that has a lock-right differential in the rear. I was just wondering if anyone knew about how much it would cost to replace this diff. with an OEM open differential, since the truck is not used off road as much any more, and I can't stand the locker when I'm driving around town.

You have tow choice for it if you want the new and the original one then have ready to pay more for it but there one cheapest way to have it the old or used one.

No need to replace the whole thing, in fact you are better off if you do not. Take it to a reliable rear end shop, and they may even know someone that wants your locker.

If the truck is 2WD, it should only be about $500 or so.
