I have a 2011 Tundra 5.7 crewmax that I'm connecting my police lights to. All of them will be LED, except for one set of 4 true strobe bulbs. I know LEDs draw so little, but I'm wanting to be on the side of caution as I'm looking to pickup an off duty gig helping with road closures which are 10hr shifts. I'm not wanting to idle all not obviously as it wouldn't be great for the motor. I'm hustlin' to get any jobs offered to help supplement income until things get better. My wife is a teacher who was just informed she'll be laid off with the recent budget cuts that happened state wide, sigh.....We'll be losing 47k in income, I'll have to sell the truck if I can't cover some of the income, although I'm confident she'll be hired by another school before her last paycheck in August.
I'm wanting to have a second battery to run all the lights off of, but which would charge automatically when on. I've seen kits here and there, just not specifically for my year truck. Everytime I try searching here, I get a list of results totally opposite of the subject matter I'm searching, lol. Maybe just my lack of a better search phrase, I don't know. I'm wanting to use two Optima batteries or equivalent(I've seen some equally rated that others are using too).
I'm needing to figure this out soon as I don't want to miss out on the rotation when he requests the officers. Thanks for any input.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
