I'm looking into getting an older Tundra or Tacoma. This would basically just be for doing projects around the house as well as my sometimes work vehicle. I'd like to keep it under $7000. Any suggestions? Thanks

more details better answers ;-D

on road, off road?

how much of a load for work and how often?

should be able to get a 4 cyl auto reg cab base model tacoma for a pretty good price ?
ya want v-6 and 4x4 well that adds a fair amount to the cost

all depends on what you want, power and 4x4 cost !

i have just the base 5 lug 4 banger auto and have hauled 1k pounds without any trouble a few times
gas millage is keeping the foot light on the gas peddle ! 2k is a good shift point

On road. I'm really just looking for a weekend project-type vehicle. So, I could probably forgo any need for hauling. With gas prices ascending, It would be nice if it got decent mileage. I would like 4x4. I'm just not sure how powerful a 4 cylinder will be. Thanks

Older Tacoma's as you describe in the Northeast have had there frame rails replaced and are worth much more than the price they should be selling for. N ot a Buyers market right now on older Tacoma's
