Hello everyone!

My truck is an 06 Tundra 4x4 DC. I installed Bi-Zenon 35w HID's last summer in headlights and 35w HID's in fog lights. I then did the fog light mod for the 06 Tundra. They worked perfectly all winter and were awesome.

Recently my driver side fog began to flicker. Then it only worked about half the time, the driver's side fog that is. The passenger side fog always worked fine and never flickered.

Then 2 days ago neither would work. Never heard a pop or anything. The fogs just don't fire/ power up. It's like no power gets to them. The ballasts don't click either. Just nothing happens.

I wired the fog lights off of the driver's side light, not a seperate power source. The fuse for the main light HID's is still fine.

Any idea's/ thoughts? Maybe my fog lite switch on my blinker lever gone bad?

I'm stumped. Everything seems fine, but obviously power is not getting to the fogs at all.

Help please!

Yes, I think you can rule out the fog light switch on the Signal Lever switch; toyota mechanics told me in Bristol VA that they had never seen any tundra signal lever go defective....I was having trouble lost turn signals and 2 local mechanics told me that all my fuses were good and one plugged up new flasher and still no turn signals; both mechanics told me my turn signal lever was bad. That's when I called Toyota Service and they swore they had never seen a tundra turn signal lever go bad. So that night I was testing each fuse myself with a volt meter and found one bad fuse; replaced it and vola it all works fine now. Those lever switches just don't go bad....

Simple. Your HiD ballast is dead. Most HiD ballasts are cheap china imports that dont last long at all, thats why they are so cheap. I am willing to bet if you buy new parts your problems go away. Make sure to swap the bulbs to make sure the problem follows and verify all your relays (if you wired them with relays, as you should) to verify ballasts bad.

Hey thanks for the replies mlowder and fungus!

I did it get it fixed. And they are working slick. I regret to inform you guys tho that it was pure operator errer on my part. My fog light mini fuse had gone bad! I did not realize the fogs have their own 15 amp mini fuse in the dash panel fuse box. Duh! Man, was I feeling like a dummy.

I actually replaced it with a 20 amp mini fuse as I had no 15 mini fuse replacements. I know this is not the best practice, but is going up 5 amps going to really cause any serious issues (like burned up wires???). Anyone else done this with no ill effects of should I head to L&M and pick up some 15 amp'ers?

Thx all!
