View Full Version : Broke one of the vacuum hose tabs on the air filter assembly ...

I'm so pissed right now :mad:

I accidentally broke one of the vacuum hose tabs located on the air assembly cover (the one closest to the front of the vehicle and by itself) while changing the air filter today.

I'm having a hard time locating a new one, let alone a used one. Can someone help me with a part number. I visited a Toyota parts website and if I selected the right part, it's about $300 bucks which is crazy money for a plastic cover. I have a 3.3 V6.

No check engine lights as of today.

Any advice/recommendations?

Post some pics. You could get a lot of good advice from members if they can see exactly where the break is. Probably get a lot more responses as well.

I would plug the hole on the air box with some silicone and splice that hose into one of the other ones using a tee like this:

I would second the T option as mentioned above. That is ur best option.

I cannot believe these are made to be so fragile... I better be careful!!
