Can the regular single disc head unit be swapped out with a OEM JBL 6-disc unit just by changing the head units? In other words, just as simple as un-plug old unit and install other unit?
I searched but was unable to find out for sure.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I don't think you can do that but I'm not 100% sure. I had a normal single disc player and swapped it out with a Scion T1808. I had that for a few months and then moved on to a T1809 because of the Satellite radio and rca outputs. Both are direct swaps with the non-JBL systems.
If you go with a Scion unit, shop around as I found my T1809 with the Satellite setup for $120 I believe, it's been a while. Actually, I may still have my T1808 if you're interested, I can't remember if I sold it or not.

How does the aux/ipod feature work with the Scion unit(s)? Is there a way to wire it in?

You just need a specific cable and I was able to get one from eBay. I know I've posted all the info about the Scion swap on here someplace but don't have it off hand and need to search for it.
