I now have a Tacoma. I go into a local installer in auburn to get leather seats installed as well as seat heaters. What a nightmare. Installer lost a bolt for the back seat hinge. Did not tighten two front seat bolts. Dinged door sills a bit. Now for the fun. They try to pass off two of their own bolts for factory toyota bolts. I simply wanted the same thing I came to the shop with. Minor but now the fun begins. Drivers seat heater works intermittently, they rewire, still works intermittently. Well because I opened up the scuff plates to check out the connections, they say I screwed up the wiring. Get this. The scraped off 6 wires on each side (under door sill scuff plate) to find switched power. The tap into one on each side. They leave the rest of the wires exposed. Bare copper. Then they tell me that is ok and the problem is me. Finally I figure out the intermittent seat heater issue is because it is hooked to the headlight circuit, specifically the wire feeding the taillights..... Turn on seat heater, nothing turn on lights seat heater works turn off lights seat heater shuts off. Yes DIY is the way to go. They tell me the wiring problem is because Katzkin didnt supply wiring instructions. They did not know how to wire it nor did they get a wiring diagram. Power and Ground was all they had to worry about. Again exposed wires in an area where water could get in. Unreal If you are in Auburn Al area might want to stay away from these guys.
