I got a stock radio and speakers, a few weeks ago I installed a JL amp and 10in sub so now i have my bass up and for some songs i like to turn it up but then my speakers sound like their going to blow and sounds like crap when i want to turn it up, so i notice i have 2 6x9 pioneer speakers and wondering if those will fit? yes i know why put 2 speakers in but that's all i got for now until i can save enough money for better speakers.

Buy a decent set from a place like Crutchfield.com, that will tell you if the 6 1/2" speaker depth will fit. They even sell adapter plates. I think the stock are 6 3/4", but some speaker makers make their 6 1/2", so they can fit 6 3/4". The max depth I believe is 2 1/2" (guessing). My Alpine SPS-17C2s (50W) fit perfectly in there. I believe the SPR-17C (100W) are a little too deep, without doing a window rail mod.
Just about anything is better than the original crap stock speakers.
If you want to "ghetto" it up with 6x9s and a rotozip, at least do it for the rear where you can't see it and have more space in the door.

In the rear door yes, with an adaptor plate. You can easily make one with material from your local hardware store or with the stock plastic mounting plate. Here are my pioneers. Forgot the model and dimensions. Sorry.

Doesn't the smaller grille opening in the door cover mute some of the sound or did you use the Pioneer grille and cut a larger opening?

It does a little but, I wasn't too worried about. At the time I was in the same boat as 2000tundraboy. 6x9's was all I had. At some point I was going to mount it better and possibly change out the speakers. It's been several years, and I haven't taken those panels off since. LOL!

Not too bad but, not the best. For me they are decent and better than the stocks.
