I have a 02 Sequoia. 127000 miles not driven as much as I used to mostly on weekends. The 4x4 takes a long time to engage now. just stay blinking, i drive a little bit turn off car then hit 4x4 switch go into drive and sometimes 4x4 will engage. I know leave it in 4x4 in fear if i normalize car it will never go back into 4x4. is there something that needs to be oiled or lubed? I live in higher elevation there tend to be rust on metal in all of my cars due to elevation. seems to me something is sticking? in help is greatly appreciated. TIA

This is a typical problem with Sequoias and Tundras. Your front axle 4WD actuator is sticking. This happens when 4WD is selected infrequently. There are three things you can do:

1. Engage the 4 Hi button while in Park, then when the light starts flashing put the truck in reverse and cut the wheel all the way to the right or left while reversing slowly on dry pavement. This should free up your actuator.

2. Remove and clean your actuator. See this post (http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forums/1gen-tundra/152230-4-wheel-drive-problem-please-help/#post1159409).

3. Replace the actuator. Current part number is 41400-34013 - over $300 for the part alone at the dealer.
