theres a crapload of sound processors out there. just depends on the features you want and how much you wanna pay for them. most of them should have some sort of "signal gain" instead of "volume" adjustment. OR vise versa. companies name their stuff differently.

When you say "sound processor" do you mean an OEM interface like the JL Cleansweep or the Rockford Fosgate 3Sixty? IF so, most of those units have external volume controls.
To most of us, Sound Processor means a passive device that sits between your low-level source and your amplifiers. The OEM integration units are a whole different animal.

yes exactly like the clean sweap or the 3sixty.2.
I dont know if i want two volum controls in the truck, seems like i would be reaching for the wrong one.
I have some Focal's i want to put back in but i dont think the OEM head unit would sound to good without a amp.
Only reasion i'm asking is that i like the BT phone and the look. I have a pionner 3300 i can put back into the trk but would rather keep the stock unit.
Hi Sammy,
I just installed the Pioneer AVH 3300BT and the phone book feature was more user friendly than the OEM.(IMO) Kept the steering wheel controls with add on module and only lost the voice commands. They are around $300 now. The two volume controls was one of the deciding factors.
Good luck!

Most have an external volume but with some you can set it and then use the OEM volume. The JL recommends that you use their volume knob. The JBL MS8 allows you to use the OEM volume.

Thanks for the replys, still not sure what way to go. Thinking just swapping out the HU with my 3300 and deal with it. I will keep looking, but $800 for the jbl ms8 is a little steep.

The MS-8 can be had for $550 on Amazon and they are an Authorized Dealer. The MS-8 can be tricky to get dialed in but is very capable and has a huge following on the audio forums.

this it does.. the reason the ms8 is as pricey as it is, is because it can auto setup with the provided mic..

Seems like a lot of work just to keep the stock HU and if only the lost of voice dialing is all I have to deal with then putting back in the old HU, I would be ahead.
Thanks for all the advice ....
