Hey all, attempting to switch out my stock cd/tape player with a JVC KW-XR810. my issue: i have the (panasonic) factory amp under rear right seat and have no idea how to bypass it to hook up my new HU or even if i need too!?

but...

i take out my old head unit. trace the wires down in attempt to find the amp. goes to the floor of passenger seat where it splits: one side to a connector, the other under the floor to the rear amp. (i believe the connector portion of the split would be the power as it seems that set of wires hooks up to the SRS)

now what do i do from here? it seems like i might just need to cut the wires at the head unit side and sodder them to the JVC connection wires.

i will attach a few pics. first pic is connectors that plug into amp. second is where the head unit wires split at floor. third is connectors for stock head unit. any help much needed.

Isn't there a wire harness that will work for this? Check Metra or P.I.E for a harness for your particular year. You many not need to cut any of the oem wiring.
Metra Part # 70-1761 | Toyota wire harness | Metra Online (http://www.metraonline.com/part/70-1761)

If you have the JBL Premium radio, then that is a different story since there is a digital turn-on signal from the oem HU to turn on the oem amp. I would simply eliminate the factory amp in that situation and power your speakers from the new Head Unit.
