I have a 2007 tacoma SR5 and was wondering if anyone has put a locker in the rear of theirs. I can't stand the fact that when i'm in two wheel drive and one wheel is on ice and the other is on dry pavement i can't go no where without putting it in four wheel drive. Of course i'm on a budget and don't want to spend a lot but still want something that is reliable. What have you done? Anyone have any advice.

In your situation, you'd want a powertrax locker, step up from the that is the Trutrac, step up from that the ARB. In that order, it's cheapest to the most expensive.

And you're sure you don't have a LSD? The reason I ask is because a lot of the SR5 packages (at least in '05 and '06) had an LSD as part of them (for the DC LB, you couldn't get an SR5 without the LSD in 2005...thus, I have one). The quickest way to check if you don't know (but not a fool proof way of checking) is to see if you have a sticker like the one in the link below.

Otherwise, you can also use the poor-man's locker method of getting yourself out of there by giving your e-brake a couple of clicks.
