Hey guys,

My dad just got the new 2012 Taco and it didn't have anything on the front for mounting a plate. I see the indentions for where one would go, and on the inside of the bumper I feel the plastic (for lack of a better word) screw-holders. So I'm wondering, is their a kit you buy or the dealer has, or do you just put lag screws through the bumper, cause that sounds a little extreme to me.

That sounds the same as my 2005 Tacoma (though I'm not sure just what's behind the bumper skin). My front plate is attached with two 1/4" lag screws about 3/4" long. The dealer installed it before I took delivery. Ask your dealer for the screws -- they probably have a box of them.

If he just bought it new, take it back to the dealer to install. They will do it.
