Will I need to extend/replace my rearview mirrors on my Tundra SR5 while towing a 5th wheel?

If you tow anything that blocks your rear view I would strongly suggest getting the tow mirrors, or a set of McKesh towing mirrors (2nd best option) that clamp onto your door at the window level and to the bottow of the door. I used McKesh mirrors for about 7 years and they worked quite well, very little vibration and good visibility behind me. Or a 3rd less expensive option are the kind that attach to your existing mirrors (not nearly as good in my opinion). I tow a 26' Outback travel trailer. Last year, we bought a used 2007 CrewMax that came with standard mirrors. I bought the Toyota tow mirrors and love the fact that they easily extend out for towing and slide back in when you aren't. It was a 30 minute unbolt old ones, bolt on new ones process. Wiring was plug-n-play.

Your state laws regarding towing may require you to be able to see behind you and the only way to do that is with tow mirrors that extend out far enough to the sides to allow you to see down the sides and to an extent, behind your trailer.

You're welcome. Here's a link to the manufacturer so you can see what they are like. I ended up using clothing dye on the white straps so they didn't show up as much on my dark green truck. :D If you have a white truck, then no issue.

Got pictures of that? How difficult was the install? Did they fit correctly or was there modifications to the truck and/or mirrors involved?

Here's a link to what I did, http://www.hilotrailerforum.com/f19/towing mirrors-toyota-tacoma-tacoma
With the powervision mirrors;relocated one mounting stud on mirror, ovaled out two holes from org. mirror to make powervision studs fit, used stainless steel washers for spacers(because of recess area in door from mirror),cut semi truck mud flap material for trim under mirror, wired glass adjust wiring to stock toyota switch(picture of wiring diagram with color code),wired in extend/retract feature of mirrors to different switch(picture of wiring diagram with color code). Other people have installed early dodge towing mirrors that flip up for towing but I think they look like antlers on the truck. Reply back if you cant get to the link, I'll to find the pics in my libruary.
