my 2002 had the trac light vsc lights come on and will not reset by unplugging battery.
checked the connection at the booster on the mater cylinder and now abs and brake light are on.
inspected sensors and the rear driver side was really loaded with corrosion so i cleaned it up but nothing really changed.
no codes on the obII .
no anti lock brakes now but everything else seems fine.
any further suggestions . i really wanted to see 500,000!!!

make sure the fluid in the brake reservoir is full.
when it drops below the sensor attached to the reservoir those lights come on and you lose traction control. incidentally, the fluid drops when your brake pads are getting close to the end of their service.

fluid is over filled as i did notice this issue in the past

The factory scan tool doesn't even have acess to abs codes on some of the older models. Not sure if that one does. I've used the Snap On "Solus" scan tool and it was able to monitor wheel speeds to confirm ABS wheel speed sensor operartion. I know some of the older Seqouia's had skid control issues and some of them have a recall open for reflashing the ecu. I would at least call a dealership and have your vin checked. The skid control ecu's aren't cheap so if it ends up being that i would make sure it really is that!

the trac light and vsc went on first for 3 days .
then the i inspected the speed sensors and found alout of rust on the left rear . cleaned it up.
unpluged the wire loom from the brake booster , cleaned and reattached and then the abs and brake light came on.

Theres gotta be some sort of code stored in the system, whether it's a flash code or something. Figuring out this code will give you a good starting place, even if it means opening your wallet, at least figure out the code and go from there.

When not using a scan tool use a jumper between terminals Tc and CG of the DLC3 connector. Tc is the 4 terminal in from the left on the top and CG is the 5 terminal in from the left on the bottom row. Then count the flash codes. Codes 11 and 21 are "normal" codes, or nothing worng.

Wow, all that to go out at one time? I can't believe all of them to go out at one time. It must be something affecting all the sensors to be reading incorrectly. Maybe a bad wire harness's connection or ground connection?

thats exactly what i was thinking. it is impossible all of these things could go at exactly the same time .
and throwing parts at it would not make any sense. i really do not know what to do next

sounds like a possible wiring problem, that the sensors are not talking to the computer.
Check all the wiring before replacing any sensors.
Should be able to check each sensor independently.

So I looked into that recall I mentioned and I guess it only applies to the '03 sequoia, which if your was built late year '02 than it may still apply. The recall has to do with the steering angle sensor loosing position due to skid control ecu logic. I've also seen these models come in and end up getting new skid control ecu's, fairly common among high mileage ones. Again there not cheap so make sure all the appropriate test procedures are done correctly before buying one.

good news lights are all off anti lock brakes work after replacing the power booster and went to toyota dealership to rest everything but now when starting off from a dead stop the anti skid kicks in light on dash comes on even on dry pavement and stumbles at the start.
suggestions now ?
