I just ordered my Kenwood DNX9990HD radio/nav unit/HU whatever you want to call it...I am looking to upgrade the front door speakers next.
I like the Focal 130VR but they run $539 at Crutchfield...Is there a comparable speaker to this for less, that also fits in the front door of the '08 Tundra DC???
Has anyone installed a set of Focal 130VR's???

These HAT drivers would probably be a step up from the Focals. On sale here:
Clarus C51-2 5.25" 2-way Speaker System - 12v Electronics (http://store.12velectronics.com/clarus-c51-2-5-25-2-way-speaker-system/)
Are you sure you can't fit a 6.5" comp set in those doors? You'd be so much better of with a 6.5" set. Many more choices too.

DOH!!! I copied the WRONG part number, I've looked and looked at Focals...It would be the Focal Polyglass 165 VB...Except Crutchfield says it is a modifed fit...If i remember right they say to install them i the kick panel...BAD IDEA...because I kcik there...Sorry for the confusion!!

This is still a great deal.
Clarus C61-2 2-way Speaker System - 12v Electronics (http://store.12velectronics.com/products/Clarus-C61%252d2-2%252dway-Speaker-System-.html)
I would take the HAT drivers over Focal all day long. The Focal's are not bad, but the HAT drivers are that much better.

You can fit just about any 6.5" in the doors, you just need to build or buy an adapter plate, not a hard build at all. Just need some MDF and a jig saw and you'll be all set. Crutchfield doesn't like to give you all the info, or might not have it, but most all 6.5's fit in our doors. That being said, I think you'll be able to find many more brands to research.
Check online as well, Crutchfield is usually pretty pricey.
