Hi, my 05 Tundra Limited JBL sound system has stopped making sound... Everything on the head unit works except for the volume control (from head unit or from steering wheel). Turning the volume knob does not change the display to show the volume level, no sound no matter what I try.
Any way to figure out if this a bad head unit or amp? Is there a fuse specifically for the amp?
thx, Dave

Still no solution, I have separately replaced the head unit and the amp (found used ones online), plugged them in, tried various combinations old/new, same result everytime. It is like the stereo is on mute.
Don't really want to go aftermarket but I'm running out of things to try. Any thoughts?
thx, Dave

Are your speaker magnets grounding out? or are your wires shorted at any point? I would think replacing the amp and headunit would have fixed it. Otherwise I'd look for shorts.
This reply is most likely too late, but have you tried running this unit on the bench, outside the truck?

Stock JBL 6 Disc Changer -CD player stopped working. Bought used JBL stock stereo on Ebay. Previously had StealthBox with amp installed which worked great until disc player stopped working. Stereo worked fine. Installed replacement stock stereo exactly same as original. Stereo and amp power is on, but no sound coming thru speakers. Tried unhooking negative battery terminal, then hooking back up, power off amp and stereo, without any change. Any thoughts?
