I've got an '01 Tundra that has a Tekonsha Voyager controller installed. I didn't install it (I'm not original owner). I'd like to remove it as simply as possible so that the it is no longer connected to my stoplight switch because I believe it may be causing an electrical issue I am having, it's not working properly, as well as I see it was not grounded the recommended way on Toyotas. Can I just cut the stoplight wire of the controller without effecting my truck just so I can quickly rule out the controller as one of my causes? The stoplight wire from the Voyager runs through a connector to a truck wire. Thanks.

Can you not simply unplug it from the back of the controller?

No, it was hard-wired in. I had Toyota do it. That wasn't the issue-it did end up being the alternator slowly dying--replaced it last night. Thanks for all your help, though, guys.
