just recently, my 2002 toyota sequoia has been having a problem with bogging down, but the problem only occurs once the cars been warmed up. It happens if you press the gas down maybe half way, maybe a little less, it just gets a really low rumble and accelerates really slow. As long as you dont press the gas down that much, it doesnt do it and seems to run fine. Theres no other problems that occur, besides this. does the low, loud sounding engine mean something? Im not sure where to go from here, and i dont have a lot of money to just throw at it trying to fix random things. Any ideas?

Thanks, Justin.

Over time, my 02' has seemed to do this more and more as well. Puzzling.

I have the same exact issue with my 2002 Sequoia. It is interesting that other owners are reporting the same issue:

and also:

I believe that there is a common etiology for all of these cases. Unfortunately, no one has elucidated the cause yet.

If and when someone does find the solution, it will help many owners.

If I find the culprit, I will post the answer back here.
