I installed the Glass Break Sensor (GBS) ECU and GBS Microphone today (Part # 08586-OC890). The kit works for Gen 2 trucks with Keyless Entry and Immobilizer. The installation instructions are pretty well written, but have a couple of unnecessary steps added. Here are the modifications to the instructions to simplify the process:
1. Step e (2): Ignore this step
2. Step 1f: Do not disconnect the plugs just leave the dash cover suspended after removal.
3. Ignore steps 1g, 1h, 1i and 1j. These steps are not necessary and add extra time.
4. Step 5b is not clear, but it refers to your fuse box located behind the battery. My short pin fuse was already installed from the factory. It was a light brown fuse link.
Use a 10mm socket, 1/2 drive, 6" extension for the top nut, and 10-12" extension for the bottom nut on the bracket.
The total installation time including pictures was about 30 minutes. The instructions and a few pictures are attached to clarify the installation location.
